Summery of November 13th, 2008 meeting
The meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm.
Twenty six (26) people were in attendance.
Major Fletcher gave the crime stats for our area from 10-13-08 to 11-13-08

13 Alarms Major Fletcher reported that these were False Alarms

2 Theft-Motor Vehicle Montrose and 2800 Block of Semmes Street
1 Traffic Accident
0 Code Enforcement
Cases are still open for break-ins at 2666 Kimmeridge Drive and 1967 Montrose Drive
Special Operations have been in force in the area.
Reminder of the Police Staff Open House, Saturday, November 15th 2008, 10am to 1pm at Sumner Park
Fire Dept Report mentioned the hydrants in question in past and if there was adequate water pressure.
Information was available in front of the bulletin board from previous meetings in regards to how much pressure is adequate, available, and how the water meters are color coded to reflect the amount of water pressure in each hydrant.
Inspections are done in the spring and fall.
Flag committee: The design on the flag not ready. Should be ready by November. Flags will run between $30.00 and $40.00.

East Point Expo-Saturday, November 22, 2008, at the Bowden Senior Center.
Holiday Open House and “One Day of Gone With the Wind”- East Point Historical Society-Sunday November 23rd, 2008. 2:00pm to 5:00pm.
East Point Celebrates the Holidays-Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008, 5:00pm to 8:00pm., Downtown East Point.
Last agenda item was not having a December meeting due to holiday celebrations, and everyone having busy schedules during that time.
Motion was made by “Judy”, second made by “Barry”.
Floor was open for discussion.
An Election was asked to be performed this evening and a nomination was place for “Jerry” as President.
A change and a need for new faces were cited as the reason for this request.
By-Laws for election rules and regulations were asked to be presented, but were not available. Mrs. Jeffares said she did not bring by-laws because she had no idea that election request were going to be presented to the group tonight.
Mention of by-laws being placed on the website as soon as possible so that the bylaws could be examined and hopefully passed in order to hold a fair and equal election.
Motion of this proposal was made by “Charles,” Second made by “Tal”, third by “Judy”. Motion carried by show of hands.
A flier was mentioned to inform other members of the neighborhood so that they may nominate someone they think would be a good candidate.
“Jan” volunteered to set up the flier. “Anthony” had to leave the meeting but offered to hand out said flier.
A motion was made by “Judy” to meet the 2nd Thursday in January 2009 and put up a slate for new officers for voting on. Second was made by “Barry”. Motion carried by show of hands.
A Holiday Decorating Contest was brought in question because gift cards were left over from a rained out “Summer Salad in Sumner Park”.
A panel from outside the neighborhood was suggested to vote on the decorations. Perhaps another neighborhood association could be the judge of the contest was suggested by “Barry”. A 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prize would be rewarded. There were 3 gift cards, East Point Flower Cottage, Oz Pizza and ???
“Judy” volunteered to head this committee.
An amount of $300.00 was reported in the treasury. This is an approx. amt., because I was unable to hear the exact amount. This came from monies brought forward from prior associations and the yard sale back in October.
A motion was made that the meeting be adjourned. A second was made by “Tal”. Motion was carried by a verbal agreement.
