CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY: MANHOLE REHABILITATION
In August 2008, the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) of the City of East Point began the Sewer System Evaluation Survey (SSES) within ten designated areas. The purpose was to investigate, prioritize, and rehabilitate those sections of the sanitary sewer pipeline system that were in need of repair, so as to prevent existing and future overflows.
It is the responsibility of the City of East Point to maintain the public sewer main and proper functioning of the sanitary sewer system. During the investigative stage of the SSES, it was determined that a manhole(s) on or near the property addresses listed below are in need of repair or relocation.
Construction crews will be working over the next several weeks to conduct surveying, repair and relocation. The City is alerting that impacts during construction may include: temporary lane closures, on-street parking restrictions, disturbance to pedestrian and vehicular traffic and construction noise.
On Thursday, May 7, 2009, crews from Metals & Materials Engineers (MME) and their sub-contractors will begin working on the manholes on these specific streets:
· 1825 Center Street
· 1863 Phillips Avenue
· 1879 Phillips Avenue
· 1896 Phillips Avenue
· 1812 East Farris Avenue
· 1905 East Farris Avenue
· 1841 Jones Street
· 1865 Dunlap Avenue
· 1943 Dunlap Avenue
· 1947 Dunlap Avenue
Work Hours: 7:30am – 5:30pm (M-F)
We ask that pedestrian and vehicular traffic please pay close attention to road work signs and the location of the construction crews.
For additional information, please feel free to contact me or Marceia Barlow, Project Coordinator, at 404-270-7162 or at mbarlow@eastpointcity.org
